Hi,

I'm a newbie with internet tablets, so bare with me if this is a stupid question. My husband and I have our files set up on a server. Each set of media is on it's own network drive. I've finally been successful at viewing my network drives from the file manager.

Now I'm really wanting to listen to the mp3s we have on the server. When I go into Canola settings (using 2 beta 3), then into media library and each media folder, I'm not able to view my network. I know that you're working on browsing through folders, so I'm guessing why this isn't an option.

But is there anyway I can do a work around to get Canola to recognize those files?

Hello,

As pointed in the website, what you need is something like UPNP is going to provide, and is already in final testing phase.

And yes, the networked folders are not appearing (as it's not implemeted yet).

Unfortunately you will have to wait the upcoming releases that will add this support

Handful is right there.... though if you're keen to have this functionality sooner, you can use Mediastreamer to browse and play UPnP shares very easily.

FYI, I have installed ushare upnp media server on my wee linux box and find that works a treat. there are others out there though.

Thanks a bunch. I guess I wasn't looking in the right place on the website to find the answer. I'll be oh so happy when the next release comes out. I was NOT looking forward to needing to buy an HCSD card to access my media.
