Quite likely I need to reinstall the N9 SW and I would like to get one more sanity check here on the forum: when executing with the flasher the -f -F *.bin command, what exactly IS NOT deleted from the phone? I would really appreciate my photos recovered and maybe other info, so I would like to know before what stupid things I am about to do next...

Thanks,
M.

so now i have some questions. i really want to stop this terrible flashing game series:
1. afaik the hardware is the same: what is the difference between region firmwares? exactly 001 vs. 005.
2. i'm a European guy so if somehow possible: how the hell i can change my phone's firmware from 005 to a 001? i would like to install a 059J203 firmware.
3. what are the difference between CMTs?
4. why i need another firmware to install CMT while any other firmwares contain CMT's?
could someone help me please? im still hesitate.

You cant go from 005 to 001, it is considered a downgrade.

Wel, what you need depends on your device variant and PR level you want. I assume you want PR1.3 level firmware, so please tell me what is the country variant of your device.

You can tell the country variant by the code written under your simtray.

the country variant is the right one, and yep, i want PR1.3 files (even if i wanted PR1.2/PR1.1 i can't downgrade :/), but there are a lot of files there; judging by size and name i guess that those two are the right ones, but i can't understand what the others are for

Ah, sure. I thought you were unsure of your variant and using that page just for an example
You have the correct files, the 2 large ones. You need not care about the others.

You may well find that maps need to be updated to 00.02.50.103 (July 2013 last available) so waste of time downloading EMMC Alps.bin if has older map content in which case you may be better grabbing EMMC for 059J1Z5 ("Rest of world"). 005 == 001? quod esset demonstrandum

They are (slightly) different firmwares. No chance to ever go from a higher number to a lower number (okay, one exception: M$ brings out PR1.4 ).
About the differences of 001 (global) and 005 (???): no idea, but they are different releases.
