Today switch to Android :/
The reason was due to the web browser being out of date, sadly.
I'll re-purpose it, mp3 player? don't know
This is really killing me, I used to be able to post pictures on twitter but now my browser freezes every 3-5 minutes. I can't even access YT and soundcloud with the browser anymore.

(I've installed a crap ton of browsers already and none worked)

Haven't used mine in about 2 years. Honestly I don't really miss it. I really like this community, but I don't miss the slowness and lack of software. Everything just works with my current android phone (xiaomi mi3) and it has all the software I need, so no regrets. I honestly don't get how some people are still using their n900 as a daily phone. It's a huge brick, slow as hell and missing a lot of software. Yeah it has maemo. I guess that's something?

It is a philosophy thing as much as anything else.

For me, the biggest "threat" to my continued use of the n900 is the browser and the increasing number of sites that do not work. MicroB is amazing for its time and yes, there are others but still ...

I'd say it is a matter of opinion and what you need.
I could never use Android because it is missing so much software that I need.

Like what? (not being sarcastic, btw. Genuinely curious.)

git, svn, gcc, gdb, just for starters.
And most of all, a decent userland.

I'm using N900 since the day Nokia shipped the first devices to customers. It's honestly about as useful for phone usage as any of my previous phones, and any issues I'd possibly have with the dialer not showing number of contacts with multiple phonenumbers etc is easily fixed by even a python snippet I can write and debug on phone.
Battery standby time at home (WLAN) is ~1 week, even with active ssh shell over WLAN. What really sucks is browser, but then... I rarely use browser for anything other than wikipedia and tmo (this forum) even on my PC. I used to watch live streaming video form http://www.tagesschau.de/ etc but that stopped working on N900 long ago :-/

Long live N900, and may its descendent Neo900 live long and prosper :-D
