Have anyone noticed that on a Bluetooth (BT) keyboard, you have to type a <space> after typing quote (either single ' or double ""). You can also double type the quote to get it to appear, but if you type a <space> on the third character, then two quotes appear.

I have a iGo Stowaway (4 row) keyboard & notice this in Abiword and Notes program.

I'm wondering if this a keyboard or OS issue?

Does this happen on USB keyboards?

I'm unable to reproduce the problem using my own 4-row Stowaway, an N800, and Notes on OS2008. I've never used Abiword.

Settings -> Control Panel -> Bluetooth Keyboard -> Keyboard
Change to Generic 105-key PC

That should fix you right up.

mplawner was correct. The hardware keyboard (using OS2007) was set to the Nokia. A quick change to the generic 105-key PC, fixed the issue.

Thanks mplawer
