Is there a way to either uninstall or disable the built in e-mail client? Reason being the mail client keeps on checking my e-mail account even though I'VE removed all the accounts in e-mail. Where is it getting this account information from???

it sucks, there should be a way to do so, try going into settings and finding if any of your passwords are saved, if so , erase those

Hmm I think I know what it is. Its in the Modest client which i installed recently.. which just happens to look exactly like the built-in e-mail client.

Hmm I think I know what it is. Its in the Modest client which i installed recently.. which just happens to look exactly like the built-in e-mail client.
Now if only I could set it as the default email client when I click on an email link...

Yeah that's what had me confused is that it called itself E-Mail. I'd love to replace the default mail client with modest. I've been trying out claws but it just feels sluggish compared to modest.

It does replace the current one, when it's running. I think that's why the name is the same. If you have Modest running, it will catch the dbus messages sent for the built-in client, and respond appropriately.

To reset the default mail client, this is what I did:
Open the X terminal or download the GPE filemanager.
Then, delete all files and folders under /home/user/apps/email/Mail
and /home/user/apps/email/settings
I had to do this because the account I was using had
a couple thousand emails and the default email client couldn't start.
It's set by default to receive a max 1000 emails.
Another problem with the default mail is if you save the password, it's saved in plain text
