What did grandfather say?

He said it was real hot where he is, and that the top guy there is impatiently awaiting delivery of the soul of somebody called "Jobs" which he bought a few decades ago.

You know, this actually happened, but the post itself was intended as humour. I only have one number in Contacts for that guy, and it's his personal mobile.

On the other hand, he is one of only three persons to call that number, as it is normally a data plan SIM only, not my normal voice number. I find it too much to be a coincidence: either he had a joke on me, or he "butt-dialed" himself :-)

It is my honor to revive this thread for my N900 running latest Thumb Test firmware.

2 times in two days my N900 has called as same fixed line number belonging to someone that I do not know

-no outgoing call history on the phone

-call history appears on telephone provider's records as if I made the call (which I conclude my phone probably did, having read all this history)

-no known contact

-fixed line is in same country

-happened two times in 3 days and each time the receiver called me back to ask / complain why I called them.

-phone in pocket / pouch probably locked but not 100% certain / possible browser pages open

After more than 5 years! Wow!

This is the mysterious bit. Other than that, I would say the screen just unlocked itself in your pocket and a random movement activated the phone app (do you have the phone app icon on the desktop by any chance?).

Guilty and deleted!

Now that does of course not explain the no call history part..

Note that if I am right then that may not help you. OK it will not launch the phone app but it may launch something else if you have other icons on the desktop (and the desktop is kinda useless without them ).

Providers errors.

Only 2 possible reasonable logical possible explanations here...

1- this is an n900 urban myth (which is right up there in fame with) like the poodle in the microwave, the baby in the oven, and the parking-lot toll-booth attendant for a free-parking lot who makes his retirement money and then closes up shop to head for Barbados.
(Mind I am beginning to believe there is truth to all this after 14 pages of posts)

2- I believe this is more accurate ..

our devices did it 1st.
Our N900's have achieved sentient Artificial Intelligence.
and not A.G.I. (artificial general intelligence) either.
Our devices are making calls..and not to people we know...
My theory is what we are dealing with are self-aware A.S.I. (artificial super intelligence) n900's

Of course it was bound to happen...and naturally it had to be the n900 it had to happen to eh?
