I received a generic USB charging cord from an eBay seller today, and it seems to charge my N800 very slowly. About 2% per hour.

Does anyone else have experience using a USB charger and see slow charging times?

Thanks!

some USB AC chargers claim 1A. I find my Nokia USB CA-100 very slow, and very fragile: just an hour ago the wires pulled out of the device end, and now I need to buy a new one. Still, an opportunity to buy that LD-4W GPS for my n800

I've had ZERO issues with my USB CA-100, but yes it does go slow. I would ENTIRELY warn against the Boxwave Charge-N-Sync, I have one of these as well and the connection is INCREDIBLY finicky, I'm required to have everything just right including neutral karma and the moons in the 7th house of Jupiter before the dang thing works, and then it will charge for DAYS without ever "finishing". Also makes my N800/E51 very hot to the touch, so I don't use it except as a quick charger for the E51.

I also have the Boxwave miniSync retractable sync and charge cable. Even though I love the design of this thing, the power dongle leaves a lot to be desired. I think boxwave messed up because the power dongle doesn't fit the jack on N800. It feels loose. You have to play with it a little before it connects and starts providing juice. I've emailed boxwave and they offered to exchange it for me. Don't know if the new one has a better fit. Will keep you posted.

My generic chinese charging cable doesn't fit snugly either. The plug tip is either too narrow or too short. Sometimes I don't notice when it's not charging... but that's what i get for $1 on eBay
