I've just done a tutorial on using the File Manager, and one of the things I covered was viewing and transferring files from a paired Bluetooth mobile phone on the tablet.

While using the File Manager, I had no problem viewing photos from my phone on the tablet, but when I tried to view video clips (even very short ones) the tablet would start saying it was streaming the clip but refuse to go any further.

If I transferred the same clip onto the tablet's memory, it opened without any problems, so this isn't a compatibility issue, and as I said before the smallest clip's file size is very small (about a third of a megabyte) so I don't think it's a size problem either.

The clip was in 3GP format by the way.

Is this a bug or am I trying to make it do something it can't do?

yeh I had the same problem. The built in video player just sucks. I don't understand why is has to suck each and every firmware/hardware upgrade.

Instead use mPlayer or any app that supports mPlayer like Kplayer.

I know it might not be as functional as other players, but I'm trying to find if this is a bug or simply something the player isn't designed to do.

Has anyone here ever managed to stream a video directly from their phone onto the tablet's own Media Player application using the file manager?
