Hello, everyone! I'm a fresh here, but hope, you'll help me.
I spend a lot of time on the road and want to buy a touchscreen laptop for my trips.
What model can you recommend?
My budget is 800 $.

Does the "touchscreen" means a tablet which can connect external keyboard like most "2 in 1"s or a clamshell with touch screen?

And what is your main purpose, i.e how much horsepower do you need, what you use it for, how much battery needed or if it needs to be solid build etc.

$800 should have plenty choices.

You can stay way below that amount if you look one or two generations back.
I had the Lenovo x201t for long time.
max 8gb ram and early i7 was enough for most tasks.
Battery life is awesome when upgraded with ssd.

toshiba m780
i5 ($150-$200)
or
i7 ($200-$300)
(both are good workhorses)
max out the ram to 8gb...
pull out the optical from the bay..
toss in a 2nd hard drive caddy...
away you go..
woo-hoo!

os's that'll run...
pretty much everything I threw at it...
I'm a distro hopper (I've settled down a bit now though)

I've tried the recent touchscreen laps that AREN'T convertible..
I don't like 'em.
ALSO.... having a stylus is a must...
If it doesn't come with one ...forget it...
no fun in diaperville without a proper stylus...

Not to mention you can have your maemo desktop interface very well via vnc, rdesktop etc...turning your wee little device into something more enjoyable and fun to work on...

Try HP Pavilion Full HD Touchscreen Laptop

A lot of reviews on techradar.com, bestadvisor.com and cnet.com recommend it.
Price - 749$
Display - 17.3-inches, FHD Multi-touch technology
Image Quality - IPS FHD matrix, 1920x1080 pixels, 178° viewing angle
Graphic Card - Intel HD Graphics 530
CPU - Intel Core i7-6700HQ 2.60 GHz (up to 3.5 GHz in Turbo mode)
RAM - 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM
Storage -1024 GB HDD

As against to most other laptops with quickly run down during the time-consuming tasks, HP Pavilion keeps the battery charged amazingly long. On a single charge, the computer will work and put up a full performance up to 7.5 hours for sure. Such a long life of the battery allows taking and using the laptop in the places with no power supply that provides convenience and usability wherever you are.
