I know I wouldn't. My house has absolutely appalling thermal properties, even by English standards.

Don't understand what you are saying...Your house is cold...colder than average English houses?

the biggest problem is electricity.

Have solar but that is far from enought to grow food indoors. I think I need a personal nuclear reactor underground...

Pretty much. Freezing in the winter, boiling in the summer.

Most English houses were never built with energy efficiency in mind. It was only in the last 10 years or so when energy efficiency has become a concern. Especially houses built in the 1970's like mine are absolutely terrible in this respect.

The tragedy is that it is built in such a way that there is very little I can do about it. I have replaced windows with single sheet of glass in them for double glazed and put some insulation in the loft. It has made a noticeable difference but it still leaks heat like a sieve through the walls, in places where adding some extra insulation would require some structural changes.

Maybe you can buy a summer house and/winter house to live during winter summer?

Yes, that is basically what we do. Or you can build a extra summer/winter house/room connected to your house?

But to get back on topic. I don't think it matters or not if your house is cold or not during an ice age. It will be pretty much cold everywhere

I think an aircraft carrier(Nimitz-class)would be one of the best places to be during a ice age. The only problem is the refueling every 20-years or so...

"It depends on how you like your weather. If you want reasonably temperate areas, southern California and the Gulf Area were still quite hospitable as of the last Glacial Maximum 18,000 years ago"

So we can all meet up in south Cal or the Guilf. Maybe an ice age isn't too cold after all

can humans survive another ice age?

Honestly...Many Alaskans, Many Canadians, Fins, Swedes, Russians, etc...from the north of north won't find it a big ordeal...in fact the climatic pendulum swinging back would be a welcome blessing...
I know until I moved to the pacific coast...my dog and I used to toboggan, snow shoe, cross country ski, and ice fish...in daily winter temperatures from -20 to -40....quite happily...
only people suffering from an ice age will be the city people...really...
Northern cities will hurt the most...and become abandoned..
wheat and other crops produced in a huge swath of the northern hemisphere would be null...
mass migrations would occur except for those who have no problem with such weather...
wildlife wouldn't suffer ...they would do fine....
but the timeline to a serious ice age would be awfully long to truly encroach and affect humanity...it would take generations upon generations to really start showing ...

It may in fact happen considering how out of whack the planet is..but it would take a long time to build up steam and impact seriously...
Serious "cold snaps" where the frozen ground gets so cold it cracks...utters nasty "bangs"..and "groans" (really truly...it does groan...) ...or Ice storms...we Canadians have been dealing with for a long time now...a nasty side effect... more devastating in it's sharp immediate impact... than any ice age...the damage to crops and trees ...to power lines and infrastructure...and the time to recover measured in weeks ...or even months...for some areas....is truly horrible...

Hm...in fact...I think we have already gone through at least one or two recorded mini ice ages already...years ...decades..with far colder than normal temps.

Interestingly...the data is also in..that the climate change we are experiencing isn't something that we just recently started...
It started during the industrial revolution...
One thing for sure....
We as a species need to fix how we interact with our environment...
or flee it into some generated micro-verse (it being the most energy cost efficient method..than fleeing off planet..or some other method...such as changing the biology of life here to adapt...)
else we may end up being an example of the Fermi paradox gone bad...

Brexit makes about as much sense fiscally as ...
Quebec leaving Canada..
I believe Brexit is suicide...
only way we'll know is if/when it happens...
then we can watch what happens...
it is really an unknown as to what the impact of leaving will be ....
since nothing like this has happened before ...
I know just the vote and announcement of leaving ...
that alone rocked markets globally...
I think the act of leaving will have less a global effect next...
and more a specific regional precise impact...
on the British Isles...

I have an issue with claims like that. We are not a bunch of xenophobes who cannot even cooperate with our own neighbours. Only half of us are. The undecided voters swung by the leave campaigners' last-minute switch from lost economic arguments to appealing to people's primal fears have made all the difference. (I fear the same is going to happen on the other side of the pond, BTW. Demagogy always wins.)

Brexit is not necessarily a suicide. And I say it as a remain voter with a "don't blame me" sticker on my car and a handful of tshirts to the same effect. Brexit may not have to be a suicide. Leaving the common market is. So now our job is figuring out how to feed the wolf whilst keeping the goat alive, so to speak. That may take some time. Rome was not destroyed in a day.
