Hi,

My friends' XA2 has a strange error.

The phone goes to sleep every 2nd sec. I can wake it up but then it goes to sleep again.

Reflashing it with the Sony Emma tool didn't help.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong.

At this point I assume it's hardware related but which component?

Could it be the proximity sensor?

Reflash Android on it and test the sensors. If all is ok flash Sailfish again

You don't have to re flash to test the sensors. There's a code you for the dialer that opens the test dialogue.

I'll try to find it - I've liked that post

Type *#*#310#*#* in dialler,

It's called CSD Tool.

Go to settings -> product information and click 5 times on the buildnumber, then it should start

Thanks for your input.

When I flashed the device with the Emma tool it was reset to Android and since the error persisted I conclude it's a hardware issue.

As the error has since disappear I conclude it was a temporary error.
My friend has decide to keep it and sent it in if the error reoccurs.

I might give the CSD tool a try.

I really hate these periodic errors. Such a hassle to debug, yet get repair ed if its gone when the repair store gets the device.
