Because video podcasting is all the rage nowadays. I have never understood the reason to make podcasts in the first place, and their video variety (including the ones on TV) is no better. Hopefully, this stuff will just die out, eventually, as all useless technology fads.

If you drive to work then maybe (although I prefer NPR). If you use public transportation though, it is much easier, faster, and more effective to read the same information off a web site or an RSS reader.
