I agree that audio podcasts are good. Leo Laporte even said that mp3 versions were downloaded more than any of his video versions. TWIT style podcasts where it's not taken too seriously and there's alot of round table conversion is entertainment, moreso than just news.

Because video podcasting is all the rage nowadays. I have never understood the reason to make podcasts in the first place, and their video variety (including the ones on TV) is no better. Hopefully, this stuff will just die out, eventually, as all useless technology fads.
I have a friend that is a postman who listens to podcasts regularly while doing his rounds, and know a few commuters that do too. They are ideal if you are in that situation.

Just because you don't understand them, doesn't make them useless.

Well, if you can read stuff on a moving vehicle without feeling sick, I guess that is an option, as long as you have a network connection that can work in the middle of the country, underground etc.
I spend my life looking at computer screens, when I am in a train I would rather listen to a podcast and look at the scenery than squint at a tiny screen that is bouncing around.

I remember watching the Computer Chronicles on PBS in the 90's to find out about some of the latest gadgetry, software, and other technology. It's a shame they didn't have the ability to spend more time on each product demonstration and the like. The Wayback Archive has many archived episodes from the show that you can watch and download for free
