So I was more than a little disappointed to discover that the $90 price drop I'd read about wasn't permanent, especially now that I've scraped the cash together.

I've done a quick search and browsed the different forums, but couldn't find much. Are there any deals out there for the N810? Any magic combination of coupons and black voodoo? Rebates? Failing that, any recommended vendors that currently have them in stock?

I'd really like to become a new internet tablet owner, but forgive me for choking up at the MSRP of $479.99.

Please help! :-)

That's where I got mine. It's apparently out of stock now (and used), but I have heard that they will accept 300 USD for them.

You can get a NEW n810 from Buy.com for $385.68 (+ tax) shipped (using standard shipping) from here using the 5% off coupon from here. The coupon is good for all customers and is good for orders through 12/31/2008.

I bought mine from Buy.com back in this past February and received it no problem (my unit didn't even have the power issue).

Hey, thanks for the tips!

I tried the buy.com coupon but apparently it now has a $15 max. (Though that's still a decent price, as it includes free, albeit slow, shipping)

Ultimately, I ended up getting one from Amazon as I currently have an Amazon Prime trial which made one day shipping very affordable.

Again, thanks for the help, and BOO on Nokia for RAISING the price $90. Heh, knock on wood but now that I finally ordered one I'm guessing the price will drop shortly? You can thank me later.

Thanks all!

Just for those reading...

The $369 deal from MobileCity does not include $13 for shipping (minimum). Still not a bad price.

You can apply the coupon code "SCENEZINE" on the nokiausa for a $72 discount. I guess they raised the base price again, though- a few days ago that knocked it down to about $373, but today it's $407.99. They also, ridiculously, insist that you answer a lot of personal questions just to buy from them... and they took 2 days to start playing phone-tag with me and tell me that I had to answer their questions, which certainly killed any possible benefit of the "free" "2-day" shipping. I declined to tell them my SSN ("at least" the last 4 digits), employer, work history etc. jut to make a purchase, and canceled.

You might want to check out this tool:

if you're watching for price drops.. on anything.

It's been some months since there were any good deals on either the N800 or N810. IMHO, the vendors probably know they're going to have to discount them once the WiMAX N810 ships (the specs and pictures are already up on nokiausa.com), so they see no point in discounting until then.

Personally, the last thing I want is yet another monthly bill (EVERYBODY wants me to switch to monthly payments, even for car radio and PC software), so I have no real interest in WiMAX. I'll wait and see what the discounts on the "old" N810 look like when and if they get around to it.
