Just to ba sure, I cannot find this info on nokia's website. But is it safe to use the AC-5 charger wit n800, since all my other nokia devices can use the above charger it would be nice if i did not have to plug in yet another charger, and jut could use the ones already connected .

As long as the output is 5v DC.

Yes the output is the same, but the mAh is lower on the AC-5. Just strange that Nokia don't have the AC-5 listed under accessory for the n800.

It's not mAh. That's milliAmpere*hours, a measure of capacity. Chargers are rated in mA (milliAmperes).

It may not provide enough current to keep the N800 running (with much CPU/wireless usage) and charge at the same time. (Even the 890 mA charger (AC-4U) that comes with the N800 can sometimes do this, with full usage of the N800.) So they don't recommend it. Why not use the N800 charger for the other devices?

My bad I ment mA just had batteries on my mind .

The AC-5 is so small, so does not take up much room, I actually has another AC-4U from my e65, but thought the AC-5 was newer and faster, so have only been using my two AC-5 to charge my Nokia stuff, but when I used the AC-5 on my n800, it was very slow at charging so was a bit concerned that the 800mA the AC-5 gives compared to the 890mA that the AC-4U.

Am really missing some fast charger for the n800, it takes at least 2.5 hour to fully charge the battery when turned off that is not fast at all, since it should be possible to charge the cell with up to 1500mA at max.

I'm using an AC-3U 350 mA and it is able to charge my n800 battery while I am listening internet radio. Charge is slow but it charge.

Sorry to revive this thread.. I have a Nokia 2630 cell phone which came with an AC-3U charger. Would I be able to charge that phone using the N810 AC-4U charger, or would it damage the phone? I want to buy a single car charger which can charge the 810 and my Nokia cell.. any particular model I need to look for?

Yeah, that'll work.

A generic 2mm Nokia car charger should be good; I'mm using one, and it seems to charge a bit faster than my AC-4U. Nothing to swear in courf to, but at least it's as good.
