What are some of the applications that would be good to add to the tablet? I see all type of applications but have no idea what they are for - is there a list somewhere of the different applications and their uses?

Thanks.

Wikipedia has a list of a few. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N800#Third_party_applications

Maemo Mapper would be one of my first choices. MPlayer is the most versatile media player available, but it's intended to be used from a terminal (command prompt). I haven't yet found a GUI media player good enough to recommend.

Well, Kally - really nothing against you, please do not think that
i will offend you - but i thank you so much for this question!

It proves that the software application tool realy is NOT
end-userfriendly. But we already had this discussion in here.

I just want to thank Kally for this as it keeps it fresh!

Usually I can tell what a program does by (a) looking at the maemo site, or (b) searching with google, or (c) running the software application tool, or (d) clicking on Software at the top of this page, and then on the Maemo url, which gets me to the description of programs.

When I can't, I often install the program and see what it looks like.
