for a more responsive nit remember to disable red pill...mine has gone from 65% activity to 25 % activity and is way more snappy...almost as fast as a modded lifedrive

Red Pill mode should have no impact on the general responsiveness of your device. It is solely a mode - intended for developers - to show hidden, internal packages in the Application Manager.
The best hint for newbies: never ever turn it on, even if a so-called "expert" here tells you to. If you (think you) need it: raise a bug against the package which requires it. Otherwise the situation will never get better.

It doesn't have an impact on the general speed but it slows down the time for application manager to list packages, which affects time to install etc.
