I like it so far, though streaming video is abysmal, I have 0s2008 installed, are there any other settings I need to adjust?

You probably want to enable swap.

I hope you enjoy your new toy.

I enabled 128 mb for swap, (highest option I had), it didnt make a difference. Youtube videos play fairly well, espn , ign, and pretty much all other streaming vids i've tried are slideshows.

It only makes a difference in certain situations. As flash memory is restricted by the number of writes before it dies, the swapiness level is set very low by default, so the N800 wont start using swap until it really needs it.

Where you'll really notice a difference is in high memory-usage situations where lots of applications/browser windows are open . . . or playing Wesnoth.

It's definitely something I recommend to everyone.

You can up the "swappiness" of the device, aka how often it uses swap memory. There's a thread on it on this forum, do a search for "tuning the n810, alpha work" that should bring it up. But as GA said, you really are burning your flash memory out

There's little reason to worry about a flash memory card wearing out from swap file use. Yes, it'll wear out faster if you use it more. But that's true of everything. Flash memory, mechanical hard drives, car tires, etc.
