I received my email with link to the software around the same time as RogerS. After installing and testing on my N810, I installed and tested on the N800. Identical results and performance as I reported last night for the N810.

On Wifi, it seems to average about 370Kbps which is about 70 to 80% higher than the Sling. Still, that's well within the 550Kbps I get with a decent EVDO connection through Sprint and certainly within the bandwidth we should expect to get when WiMax finally rolls into town. It'll be interesting to see how much tha lag increases when I get out and about later today and try the BT/Sprint EVDO connection.

One other thing I've noticed on both my Workstation and the N8x0's is some yellow cast in a broad verical band through the picture sometimes. It's not major but might become annoying. There are settings to tune hue, contrast, and saturation so perhaps it can be tuned out but haven't tried yet.

Again though, a VERY cool app for the NIT that I look forward to helping with. I was a private beta tester for the Sling client for the Treo 700p but my requests to Sling to port their player to the more watchable NIT screen went unanswered. This is one of those holy grails for me..watch all of my media whether on my Tivo or media player (Dlink DSM-520) while on business trips (which I do many of).

Great job HAVA!

Hrmm. I receive my email with .doc but the URL provided does not find the .deb. Has it already been taken down?

N/M.

The URL in the doc had a space between myhava .com

Reggie,

Are you able to view a recording on the N8x0 that you made on the PC?

Or is "convert then copy to the tablet" the only way to do that?

Roger

There is no option for that *YET* Roger. Forget the PC, I think that is when the other USB port of the Titanium will come into play.

Yeah, right now it's convert then copy is the only option. I suggest recommending a "save as to tablet format" feature on the HAVA Player for the PC.

Evil,
The url is case sensitive. The URL is active as far as I can tell.

I just downloaded mine about 2 hours ago. It worked great in my preliminary tests on the 810.

I would like to see a local connection option when at home like the desktop version has. Some of the video dropouts I see would probably go away at that point.

Thanks to HAVA for already bumping the beta version from 0.40 to 0.42!

Deinstall and reinstall went fine on both the N810 and N800. I still was having problems with vertical color banding but that was also present on the PC version of the player. Searching through HAVA's support forum, I found there is an upgraded version of the device firmware that claimed to fix that very problem. That version (for the HAVA Titanium HD) is version 222216. I found that mine had version 222215 loaded. Something to note well: when you run the HAVA Wizard, it checks to see if your unit needs updating BUT that check does NOT check the firmware version running in the HAVA. It just checks the OS running in the device, the player version, and the wizard version. So if that check reveals you don't need an update look further by going into the Wizard's Advanced menu and check the firmware rev. After finding that mine was downrev, I updated it and to my great satisfaction, the vertical color banding problem has disappeared.

I have also now reconfigured the HAVA to stream my DLink DSM-520 Media Player instead of my TIVO S3 (too much competition with my wife for use of the TIVO) and the HAVA remote seems to be mapped pretty well to the DLink.

Once again, kudos to the HAVA team for such a useable beta!
