The error reports missing libhildondesktop0. I'm using a new N810.

Any help? Thanks.

What is the output of the following command run in xterm?

Code:
dpkg -s libhildondesktop0
Specifically, the "Status" line of the output.

For informational purposes here is what Personal Menu depends on

Code:
Depends: libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.12.2), libc6 (>= 2.5.0-1), libcairo2 (>= 1.4.10), libdbus-1-3 (>= 0.94), libdbus-glib-1-2 (>= 0.74), libgconf2-6 (>= 2.13.5), libglade2-0 (>= 1:2.3.6), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.12.12-1osso3), libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2:2.10.12-0osso15), libhildon1 (>= 1.0.11), libhildondesktop0 (>= 1:2.0.6-1), libosso1 (>= 2.13), libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.16.4), libxml2
Finally, if you try installing it from the xterm (assuming you have becomeroot installed)

Code:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i personal-menu_0.4-2_armel.deb
Does this give any meaningful error?

If you install the package "becomeroot" from the application manager, execute these two lines in the terminal (from the directory you download it to):

Code:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i personal-menu_0.4-2_armel.deb
And see what it says.

After trying:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i personal-menu_0.4.2_armel.deb

I got this:
cannot access archive: No such file or directory

Make sure the package is downloaded to the directory you are in. For example, download to /media/mmc1 then install from that directory in xterm.

ok I did all this and it seems I have an older version of hildondesktop0 than libhildondesktop0 (>= 1:2.0.6-1).

I **JUST** bought this n810.

How do I go about upgrading the libs? I can't find a link to anything anywhere
