I have installed modest and claws to see which one is best to suite my needs. I'd like to able to have this program of choice to be launched when I click on the "new message" notification box. Is it possible ? If so, how do I tell maemo so ?

Thank you.

I'd Be interested in the answer to this as well. Any way to uninstall the original mail client?

Just wait for Diablo. Trying to hack these in as a replacement to osso-email is likely to be a lot more trouble than its worth and all that work will be for naught in just a month or so.

Who knows. I do know the OpenSSL just pushed it back at least a week.

As always, "it's done when it's done".

Do you mean that diablo allows to invoke the mail program you want (say, claws) as the default for new message and mailto: links?
That would be a good reason to try the unofficial update route

Hum why can't we choose ? Modest is not perfect either and has flaws such as sudden crashes, ...

It's a shame that something already existing in Debian could not be inherited in a derivative Debian system...
