I've read so many posts on how people were able to link their N800 to their Treo 700wx, and yes I'm happy for them, BUT, how about telling us that can't figure it all out, how you did it?? I've been unable to make a data call to connect my 700 to my 800. I can send files via BT and they are paired up. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you

Guess I should state the N800 has OS2008 and the 700wx has WM5.0.

One of the first things you need to make sure you have is a data service through your cell phone provider. For example, with tmobile, the tzones addon simply won't work if you want to tether to your phone and surf. You have to get the unlimited internet addon. Second, there are various ways of starting the data connection via your tablet in ways that your phone will understand. I can only speak to knowledge of how tmobile does it. Another important thing to know is whether your phone provides support for DUN or PAN via bluetooth. Most windows mobile 6 devices now use PAN as a way to connect devices. In your case, using WM5, it's DUN, but it's also important to know who your carrier is, because I believe that there was some kerfuffle back when verizon or one of the carriers disabled needed profiles to specifically stop tethering. Once you have all that information ready, post again and I will try my best to help you connect your tablet to the net. There may be other posts on the forum that explain this in detail, you might also try searching for a carrier specific thread.

Ok, I called verizon (my carrier) to find out what is supported. I do have an unlimited data plan, so I know once/if I can tether I'm good to go. In verizon's words, they want another $15 a month to tether. I'm still unable to find out if they are looking to see if DUN or PAN is what they are looking for.

And finally, you are correct, DUN.

Found an older thread, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...9&postcount=16, and it worked, HOWEVER, it takes you to the verizon site to sign up for the $15/month plan. Any hacks around this? Thank you.

I honestly have no idea as I've never used verizon as a carrier. Most of my knowledge lies with GSM phones as I have used a local carrier unicel, in the past and am on tmobile now. It may be worth it to you to find out what bands your cdma phone supports as it may be as fast as your home internet connection depending on where you live. Seems like you've got it mostly figured out, now you really have to decide on whether you want to give them an extra 15 bucks or not. I can say that it's liberating to be able to check email or post to a blog from anywhere. Your phone probably does alot of that for you now. Good luck, and I hope I helped.

I just use the $15/mo. V-Cast plan and tether to my LG VX8500. I'd imagine that mobile web would also work for only $10, or any other plan with unlimited data. There aren't any tricks, it is just #777 or ##DIALUP on Motorola phones.
