Hey, i only recently got my n800 and i've been trying out different things on it. I recently came across the application that lets you rotate your screen but in the instructions it says you have to flash the kernel. I have the file which i need to use but i don't have a clue how to flash it. The instructions are on this webpage: http://sse2.net/rotate/

I type in the line:
flasher --load --boot --kernel kernel-rx-34_2.6.21.0-osso71-randr2
into X Terminal but it says flasher not found. So can anyone help me here please?

You need to grab the flasher and stick it in your search path.

Do i just send the file to my n800 and then include that in the start of the command line?

No, you flash from the computer.

Is there not a flasher for the N810?

Yes, flasher-3.0 works with n810 off a linux computer and fanoush's flasher flashes on the device itself i.e n810 fine.

  1. chmod a+x ./flasher-3.0
  2. Turn off the Nokia, plug it in with USB, hold down the Home/Swap key and power it on, set it down.
  3. ./flasher-3.0 -k <kernel image> -f -R

Done.
