Getting close to buying a N810 (to replace my pocket pc and do a few more things).
Since I have a bit of music I also want to get a 8 GByte storage card.
The combo I fancy is:
* SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Card
* SANDISK MICRO SD TO MINI SD CARD ADAPTOR
Is this a proven configuration (I have seem some threads on problems with this card witht the wrong adaptor)
Is there a better alternative?

Well, I've always been partial to cards that don't need adapters, so I went with the Mini Patriot 8GB card and so far haven't had any problems to speak of.

I've heard of some people having problems with the SanDisk Micro-Mini adapter, but I'm using a Patriot adapter and it works great. I've used that adapter with both a Patriot 2GB and a SanDisk 8GB card with no problems.

I picked up a SanDisk 8GB and then a 2GB card for my phone from Kingston and am using the adaptor from that one. The little reader that came with the SanDisk was interesting but the one that came with the Kingston package was better.

So far very happy with the SanDisk.. just wish it was a little cheaper but isn't that always the case.

Same as gshocker - Kingston adapter with sandisk microsd. Works a treat.

Anyone have real world experience with 4x and 6x cards? Is the speed difference on paper worth anything in the real world? I've heard mix results.

Thanks for the info. I think I will go with the Mini Patriot 8GB since it means no adapters (which I have noticed from threads can cause problems).
I also noticed that the UK price (in £) is the same as the US price (in $). Just as well memory cards are not as expensive as they were!

I wanted to add that I'm doing the same SanDisk microSD w/ a Kensington adapter (having bought the same Kensington 2GB microSD along w/ the 8GB SanDisk- I'll chalk it up to great minds thinking alike ), and am also having no trouble at all with the adapter.

The one benefit of going the micro route is that any card you get will likely be usable in your next toy, while the mini format seems to be going the way of the Dodo and will not be usable. That said, by the time we buy our next toys (this fall- I mean in the distant future) the cards will be even cheaper, so who cares.
