Mazera and Warfare Incorporated are both sold now by Astraware.

Mazera: http://www.astraware.com/palm/mazera/
Warfare Incorporated: http://www.astraware.com/palm/action/warfare/

There's demos for each there. In fact Astraware does have a lot of good Palm games. Some of the other good ones I've tried (but not on my n800 yet):

Tradewinds: http://www.astraware.com/palm/strategy/tradewinds/
Tradewinds 2: http://www.astraware.com/palm/strategy/tradewinds2/
Westward: http://www.astraware.com/palm/strategy/westward/
Zap 2000/2016: http://www.astraware.com/palm/action/zap2000/
Zuma: http://www.astraware.com/palm/action/zuma/

Again, haven't tried these ones on my n800 yet, they're just great Palm games. Unfortunately none are free, but they do all have demos.

As for screenshots, here's a couple from each.

The last one was too big to upload here, so here's an imageshack link:

I've been able to get the following apps working in the new GVM and launching from direct shortgcuts in KDE:

Unit2Unit (a handy unit convertor)
MWcalc (a molecular weight calculator)
and WWcalc (a Weight watcher's points calc and tracker)

I've really missed these little tools!

I did manage to get the game Titanic installed also and played for a while, but when I went to open it again, it crashed.

Has anybody tried Legacy or the Quest yet?

Datebook and Pocketquicken install and hotsync normally. Audible Reader, however, insists on being reinstalled on every hotsync, then refuses to look in my internal SD card for books. Player will only download that part of a book that will fit in internal memory. I consider it much easier to convert the Audible file to mp3 with Goldwave, move it to the card, and listen with Media Player.

The other apps that were on my Zire 72 all have much better substitutes that are native to the NIT (Xword, for example, is at least the equal of Crossword Puzzles for Palm OS).

The Quest crashes after the menu.

The Quest by Redshift? I was able to get it up and running without the music or sound files installed, 4MB dynamic heap and 'display compatibility' checked. It is a little slower moving around the world than on my TX, but still very useable (as far as I can tell).

Is this BrentDC from 1src/BH? Hiya!! Good to see ya here!

Thanks for the info. I had tried the Quest by RS on my N810 and it crashed as in the OP's but I hadn't increased the dynamic heap or tried to adjust the model type. Will try that out

Yes this is. I finally took the plunge and got an NIT (N800) a few weeks ago. Good to see you around too!

The Quest is a bit finicky about dynamic heap i.e. it needs a lot, so increasing it and leaving out the sound is probably necessary (at least until I can figure out how to give it a lot more than 4MB - maybe via the command line).
