Had you considered adding Chinook Extras to your Diablo install? . . .

I don't see Chinook Extras on Gronmayer. The only thing I see with the word extras is Maemo Extras and I have that.

Very good news though. This method did end up working for me.

Oddly, I had done what Munk suggested two posts back, but in sort of a one step at a time way.

Like, I installed the accounts pluggin one and then tried to set up Yahoo-didn't work. Then I tried adding the Telepathy-haze one and it still didn't work.
But installing of them both , one right after the other, worked!

But this is where I got lost last night: The install notes in Telepathy-Haze said that it used libpurple0. So, I tried installing that and ended up going crazy trying to add endless dependencies.

( Edit: when I was just now going through my installed apps in app manager, I see that libpurple0 is there! So, apparently just installing the accounts pluggin and the Telepathy -haze pluggins also installed libpurple0)

But it's working for me now.

Thanks guys for the help.

Neil

Just create a new catalog with the following info:

Catalog name: maemo Extras chinook
Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras/
Distrbution: chinook
Components: free non-free

What version of RT Comm comes with Diablo anyway? I've installed the beta 2.3 - just added the RT Comm Beta Application Catalog... without even looking at the Diablo version.

Not sure about this-about whether there is an RTCOMM that comes with Diablo. It appears to simply come with the same software that Chinook had .

Have you tried installing RTCOMM ?

There's one; otherwise you wouldn't be able to set your Google account via the Control Panel or the Contacts portion.

You can't see it listed in installed programs, unless you enter red pill mode. I just went and installed the RTComm Beta 2.3 version without even looking at the version installed.

It very well could be the same version that came with the pre-Diablo version. I'm just curious if that's the case. Once I've installed RT Comm Beta, there are no updates, so I could think that the Beta is the "newest" version.

Hi,

I installed telepathy-haze and account-plugin-haze on my fresh Diablo install from collabora-repo. I can setup my ICQ/MSN accounts fine but they are not connecting. There is no error, the panel-symbol just stays blinking and nothing happens. I get the same result when using the rtcomm-beta installer. Anyone has an idea what I did do wrong?

EDIT: seems as if MSN in fact does connect, but the panel-applet doesn't show the icon in the list of connected protocolls like it did on Chinook. But ICQ doesn't connect, maybe cause of the recent change in the servers/protokoll (see this pidign bug report)?

After installing file in that directory you must regenerate the icon cache manually or reboot.

Code:
gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor

Yes, true. Someone has to backport this into rtcomm and you're all set.

One can also run Bitlbee on a remote server, and have Irssi in a screen. Then you can SSH to this server from the NIT (consider using SSH keys or OPIE based on your preferences). You can even automate screen -r, and make a script which SSHs to your remote server. Or use PuTTy port.

Hey all, I posted a fix for ICQ in RTCOMM over here. Note that this is not a Diablo-specific fix, it works in Chinook too.
