I'm glad this thread will speed things up... i hope.
Any more comments, help and suggestions?

Thanks. Peace bro! And not all of us here are developers, im just a consumer who views installable apps in my app manager.

Add Chinook Extras to your Application catalog as mentioned above, and add the Collabora repo from http://www.gronmayer.com/it.

Chinook Extras will serve as a stop-gap until Diablo Extras gets up to speed in a few weeks, and the Collabora repository has the telepathy plugins to allow you to use more services with rtcomm.

Also, calm down.

What about Python2.5-runtime? Even apt-get -f will not install this because of version conflicts...

Apps like "Mytube" and "UK Media Player" will not run without this package.

EDIT: I found that the "Mytube" click to install link was broken. Go here >> http://mytube.garage.maemo.org/repos/ then click here >> mytube.install

Also, apps like "emelFM2" have usability issues for whatever reason. < It installs and runs fine but, can't view or edit files.
Without the ability to easily tweak some files and the loss of of a few "comfort" apps does indeed make "Diablo" boring.

I feel your pain, paranaque.

However, give it a few weeks and the community will straighten it out. It always does.

It already is in some cases >> http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=21642

Hmm... maybe I'm bastardizing my fresh Diablo install w/a bunch of pre-Diablo apps, but I just deleted all of the repositories (except for the one it won't let you delete) in the Application Manager... and went to gronmayer.com/it/ and selected all, add, etc...

I have pidgin, mplayer, abiword, gnumeric, claws-mail, xmame, etc... running on Diablo... and the only problem i've noticed so far is that Canola2 doesn't seem to have any fonts (or something along those lines... all dialogs, buttons, etc... are missing text).

On one hand, I'm curious if I've done a _bad thing_ installing legacy apps, but so far the only thing I'm mourning is a usable Canola2.

With ALL these posts, so many of them, I sometimes wonder whether there is two different diablo!

I humbly disagree. I am using emelfm2 every hours for my pet projects/prog development, installation, view files without disturbing/saving files. Everyday every seconds before and after diablo. I hope I can help you with your problems. Did you restore or did you start from scratch? I never trust restore. I know, one button takes care of all, yup right.

Ugh, please don't do that. If you must, keep it to yourself so you don't put the idea into other people's head's. :\

Too bad the Maemo crowd can't create a site that automatically sets up the recommended repositories with the ease of the gronmayer site.

I did that after upgrade and all is well except python

the wiki list referred to would then be somewhat incorrect as a lot of those listed either work or appear in app manager.

boring with N810? hardly.

OK, here it is.

Install this!

That's the sum total of all repositories a new user should install on their tablet. Everything else should only be used on a case-by-case basis.

The reason the Maemo crowd wont create a site like that is because anything that encourages use of 3rd-party repositories is a bad thing.

Seriously, please don't recommend this step to people. As one of the people most likely to have to help pick up the pieces for new users who get themselves into trouble doing this, I would really appreciate it.

Well... I just did a reflash and found that 97% of my incompatibility problems were because I had "Extras-devel" repository enabled on my back-up and "Extras" Chinook was not.

A lot of apps went to the development repository for packages and that led to incompatibilities down the road.

However with the new flash, I am still seeing problems with emelfm2. When I hit the "view" or "edit" icons (@ root BTW), emel crashes hard.
Am I forgetting to enable something??
