Great, thanks and I'm glad I can use this. For some reason, I could not get that theme working on Chinook. So I never saw it before.

So for what it's worth, here is my conky.conf file, with screenshot.

I formatted things a bit better, removed stuff I didn't use like mpd and added a few things. Notice I just listed out values in /sys for the light level and internal temperature. I need to do some formatting work on the internal temp. What language is this config file written in anyway?

Can the temperature instead of x1000 just be like e.g. 37,5C? Would be more nice...

Nice! I'd like to have your background too?!

One thing which bothers me here, is that the clock applet is right _above_ the AP MAC (the bottom line of conky). How can I fix this?

Just a question: Why would all this Conky-provided information be useful??

Well, in one view you see several types of information. Whether those are useful to you, matters on a case by case and is personal.

I sometimes, when connected to a public WiFi AP, consider it useful knowing my IP address.

Sometimes its very useful knowing which applications are using the most CPU time or RAM.

It might save you running other applets or panels.

And so on, and so on.

You don't have to (always) run it, and you can modify the config to your taste...

PS: I always had a SLC1000, and now also a N810..
