Hmm,
System requirements 300 MHz CPU, 32MB RAM, 25MB hard disk, OpenGL-capable graphics card (only required by versions prior to 1.55)

Source code is available but only on a developer cd that you have to buy, don't that will go down well...

There's a game somewhat similar in concept to uplink called "endgame singularity" and there's a port ready to run on the N8x0s somewhere on this site It feels very similar but the plot is different.

I love uplink, I used to play it obsessively but I never got the hang of cracking LANs effectively so I gave it up :P I'd actually really love to play it on my tablet but I don't think that's possible. (legally). If you could find an Uplink clone that's OSS, then sure I'm all for it!

Hey wow! I just found an open-source clone of Uplink

page with source is available here: http://home.as-netz.de/gblech/mylink/

Maybe someone can compile it and try it out?

well... yes and no...

the game is written in pure perl and requires the Frontier and Tk modules. The frontier modules install cleanly, but Tk won't for whatever reason.

I can run the game, but it stretches off the edge of my screen and I can't log in 'cause i can't see the options buttons.

So in other words, it'll probably run, but it'll need work and tweaking of the source and unfortunately I know next to nothing about coding in Perl and I don't have a lot of time on my hands right now :/

However, it doesn't look like it would take too much effort if someone knew what they were doing
