In response to munky261's request, I have ported Yellownotes to Diablo (it should more than likely work in Chinook as well). I have attached the source and the install file to this message, and contacted the original author to get direction for further distribution.
Besides changing the source for OS2008, I made some other changes to better suit the desktop. The applet will now resize when dragging the lower right corner (thus eliminating the need for height and width settings). The applet follows the theme being used while still allowing background color and font settings to be selected. There were a couple other minor changes as well.

But anyway, the source is there, you can compile in an CHINOOK_SDK.
