I have updated first post to link to the hex-a-hop project page you linked as the preferred method for install. I've also removed it from my repo to avoid potential confusion.
Thanks! No doubt many more people will be able to find and play it because of your efforts.
I'm not sure about the .mod file format, perhaps you can install the package called 'file' to see if it can detect its type (it is a file type guesser). I have a build on my repo and i think free has a build in his. Or run 'file' on desktop from x86 linux repo. -- Or wait it might be this Amiga audio format which maemo probably does not have a package to support.
