Sorry every one for not getting back on this very quickly, last week was pure chaos at work and at home, and when this issue came up I was in the middle of trying to get threading working so that the window didn't become unresponsive for any significant amount of time. That ended up being the big delay, and I still don't have it working. It is better... but not right.*

So I've uploaded 2 new files. Because of the issue we had with the base mlbviewer code, I decided to make that its own package that I can update without needing to revert my development code to a working copy (my full version is almost always broken within a day or release thanks to tinkering). So now you'll need to download python-mlbviewer, and the mlbviewer_gui package. I am also including a copy of the mlbviewer lib in the folder "OldMLBviewer" so if a mlbviewer update breaks the program, you can rename that folder and run that version. More when I get home from work, but I wanted this up for any one who wants it.

It's probably just my ineptness, but I downloaded the new files and I still get the "problem fetching url" when I try to access mlb audio.

Got your message, looks like when I added the better error handling, I skiped the audio section. What you can do is open the log file (/home/user/.mlb/outputlog.txt) and look for "Error at [time]" followed by a line of detail. If it says its a login error, the problem is most likely with your login. If it's something else, post that detail line here and I'll see what I can find when I get home.

I'll update the packages tonight when I get off work, to include the proper error handling.

Thanks for reply. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm a complete novice and don't know how to get into the bowels of my n810 to check login as you advised, but I'm pretty sure login data is ok since it is correctly entered in the configuration set up.

In a way, I'm glad I have this current problem because it gives me a chance to thank you for making it possible for us to listen to the games on our n810 when not at our desktops.

So, I was gonna upload a deb today. But then I was running through a test of all the features and found that highlights and such are no longer playing for me. Can any one else confirm this (I seem to have the problem in both new and old versions), and if so tell me what version of mplayer your using?

Once I figure out this issue I'll release the new file with an updated gui.

jldcon - the quickest way for our purposes would be to run mlbviewer, try to open a stream, and then exit right after the error. Open xterm, and enter the command "cat /home/user/.mlb/outputlog.txt" whitch will print the contents of the file.

I've got your latest deb from 7/9 and everything is working fine. I'm able to watch the highlights.

MPlayer 1.0rc1-maemo.27.n8x0

I did notice that the Game Viewer box now stays up when playing the highlights, so the pause (spacebar) is going to the Game Viewer and not mplayer, causing the video to start over. But I rarely pause, hardly worth spending time fixing.

hvacengi: I just fired up my mlb viewer and it is working. I can watch highlights, recaps and condensed games. I'm a subscriber to mlb.com so this may have something to do with it.

My Mplayer version: MPlayer 1.0rc1-maemo.29.n8x0

Looks like I have ver 0.0.7 of mlb viewer.

So... my video error had nothing to do with mlbviewer, mlb.com, or mplayer. I had the custom android kernel installed which apparently messes with mplayer (I found that no video worked at all). So since my bug was all in my head, I have a release ready and available on my garage page. This package should also help jldcon, as it will now show the full error detail in the system note popup. (Have you tried logging in on the website and then specificly pressing logout?)

https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=725

I also changed the window settings, the game viewer is no longer is a dialog window, just the same main window. Which should help with the problem the ehovorka pointed out (I had noticed it my self as well, but setting the modal value to false didn't fix it so I just eliminated the conflict).

Thanks to all of you for checking out the mplayer thing, sorry it delayed the release.

Change log:
"Changed game viewer to show in the main window instead of a dialog box. Mirrored error system note changes from video in the last release to the audio in this release. Added calendar browse button (open folder icon) to select date. Added refresh button to refresh current day's listtings."

The new screen is great, and I was able to see a longer error message: "error fetching URL:Login was unsuccessful. I then logged in on mlb site and logged out. Could the problem be that I have only an audio subscription - I only listen - never watch the games? When I go to my Dell PC and login at mlb site I get the audio feed.
