Modest, does not let the user remove emails from POP3 server when the option "Leave Message on Server" is set.

I miss this feature from the old email app. Are there any plans to bring this back?

Also will we ever be able to view images in our emails?

I can help w/the second question: to enable viewing images, you need to install the gconf-editor (2.18.0-0.maemo1 is latest).

Once that is done, run it (it installs in Settings as Configuration Editor), find the section apps/modest, and tick fetch_external_images. No reboot needed.

Maybe that is intended functionality?

If you have access to an IMAP4 server I can recommend you to use this protocol instead of POP3.

the pop3 protocol separates download from deletion so its quite possible to do so...

but then im starting to wonder about the modest devs and some sticks up some orifice or other...

but then, being a non-coder, i guess i should not be complaining...

When checking mail automatically every x miutes... it has that internal error... AND it makes the tablet back so hot...

Just retrieve manually your messages and everything works fine....

EDIT: With the OS2008 upgrade, mail seems to work!!! YAY
