I figured it out. I was able to connect to 2 of 3 Starbucks and Panera.
I checked all connection setting boxes and always accept cookies.
Following what I read in one forum which recommends to use a favorite url saved from Bookmarks instead of Open new browser window.

Click "Bookmarks", then a saved url (such as google maps: http://maps.google.com) ==> The page DID get redirected to a login page or Accept Agreement page.

Please let us know if you know different ways.

when I first tried "free" (with starbucks card) attwifi it took a few attempts to get the login page to work; a combination of restarting the browser and using reload sorted it out for me.

I could not figure out how to use the camera with skype.
Is it possible ?

No, not until Skype adds support for the camera. This has been a frequent topic of discussion in these fora.
