A note to anybody else trying to identify stuff like this in the future, a google search along the lines of "wasp identification", or "beetle identification", or "bird identification" will usually pull up a number of decent identification guides that you can follow through to figure out what you're looking at.

Cmon, they are not that big, about 1MB a piece. Just be glad I didnt use my camera, they would have been 4-5MB a peice

Seriously I said "way off topic" and I am sure it was my cable modem trying to serve the pictures, not your DSL slowing down

I intruiged you with the "what the hell are these" didn't I? You just had to look

Its all about the marketing

Since I could not just click the Thanks button, I had to quote you and say thanks. I actually did do some searching from google first but I could not find it. I figured I would share with my friends at ITT, and I was truly amazed it was identified that quickly. I never have luck finding plants either. Maybe I should post them out here too

Yeah, sometimes it's hit and miss, but it's a reasonable place to start that not everybody would think of.

Thankfully I have a number of biologist friends to identify stuff like this for me, too.
