All right so I have a Nokia n800. Where there are WiFi signals available, I can connect, make calls from Skype and everything is good.

The problem arises where there is no internet connection. What would you recommend as a good way to connect to the internet?

Basically, what I am having in mind is some kind of a data plan. And then use Bluetooth (or anything else?) to have my n800 link up to the other device and access the internet through that.

So I am having some questions before I commit myself to a data plan, and would be grateful if some people experienced in doing this could help me out.

First, what technology is the best to connect the n800 to a mobile device for internet connectivity through telephone network? Bluetooth?

Second, what effect on battery life will this technology have on the n800 (and maybe the other device too)

Third, what about speed?

Fourth, do you have any recommendations for a cheap (atleast for a college student ) data plan and a device that people have definitely got to work with the n800?

Basically, my idea is to have connectivity on my n800 in the absence of traditional wireless routers / access points / signals.

Thank you!

Did you click Wiki fron the main page? Bluetooth seems like the best option.
