Installed without a hitch on my end. This new software upgrade function is really nice.

Haven't had a chance to play with it beyond opening a web page or two, but it seems solid.

Nice birthday prezzie. MicroB does seem faster.

Hm, after the upgrade my hostname is still "Nokia-N810-23-14" although "About product" & /etc/osso_software_version say 4.2008.30-2. Anyone else see this or is it just me?

I reflash again from Linux PC
Unpack kernel-diablo-flasher_2.6.21-200829maemo1_all.deb and initfs-flasher_0.95.16-200829maemo1_all.deb

flasher-3.0-static --kernel ./boot/zImage-diablo-200828 --initfs ./usr/share/osso/images/initfs.jffs2 -R -f
flasher v0.9.0 (Jan 19 2007)

USB device found found at bus 004, device address 015
Found device RX-44, hardware revision 0805
NOLO version 1.1.11
Version of 'sw-release': <no version>
Sending kernel image (1500 kB)...
100% (1500 of 1500 kB, avg. 14290 kB/s)
Flashing kernel... done.
Sending initfs image (2233 kB)...
100% (2233 of 2233 kB, avg. 12546 kB/s)
Flashing initfs... done.

Doesn't help. N810 doesn't boot
Please help!

Easy update, but now my Modest email problems are back. I double click to read an email and poof, the email is gone. Sometimes it will come back if I close and repoen Modest. Other times the email is gone for good.

I'm very unhappy with the beta email app. The previous app was solid and seemed just as fast. I don't understand the switch.

Reinstall the xserver-xomap with rotation, nokia haven't updated it in a long while
I did reinstalled xserver-xomap with rotation (had to use "red pill') but nothing change. What does xserver-xomap with rotation has to do with rtcom-beta-os2008, I am lost.

The regular version has strict dependencies (version ==), the -unlocked version does not (version >=). With -unlocked, you can upgrade the stuff Nokia ships beyond the version they ship without having to remove osso-software-version.

Side note to everybody. Please make sure you install the right version for your device (osso-software-version-rx34 for N800 and osso-software-version-rx44 for N810), or else a kernel/initfs upgrade may drop you into a reboot loop.
