Hi there, I got the following problem: if I connect through my phone I can access the repositories and starting to download the apps, though it will download a part of them then give a "Download not completed" message and stop the installation. If it seems to reach the end of the download, I'll get a "Installation file corrupted" message, in any case no installation will be performed.

Using the 770 connected to my wifi router won't even connect to the repos, I tried apt-get update through the Xterm and got an error (now I don't remember it exactly).

I tried disabling the router's firewall but no success.
I'd totally subscribe the "Starting to lose faith" thread, since OS2006 premises for me were just no more than 2005s: GTalk won't connect through the router but only through the phone, tried all kinds of suggestions but no lucky, application manager seems to do the same, and I can not find lots of app outside repositories... Quite disappointing!

I have to access repository.maemo.org via an anonymizer proxy, there'ssomething with my provider's IP that's going wrong with the repository site. There's a thread in bugzilla, https://maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=445
about this. IMHO you've some problems with your provider/router conf, at first sight I don't think it's a 770 problem.
If I like to use application manager directly, I have to use links via the anonymizer or download packages via phone connection (or use someone's friends WIFI...), otherwise I get an authorization required reply.

In fact I just had access to an access point at my work site, and installed evince (the program I was trying to install yesterday) flawlessly

I was already convinced it wasn't a 770 problem, but now I have to understand how to manage this

I have checked and I have no proxy setting, automatic recover of DNS and of IP address (DHCP server is running on the router).
Furthermore, how could it be that it behaves differently from one application to the other? (all is running without problems with browser, email, bloglines 770, pan, maemo mapper, live-f1...) I apologize for my ignorance on proxys

I had same problems, until I updated firmware to my wlan-adsl-router.

Problem is: I already uptdated my router's firmware

Anyone here is using a Dlink DLS-G 604T? Any chanche that he could go to 192.168.1.1, choose the "Tools" tab, "Update Gateway", select "Restore" then send me his config.xml? I'll try to see whether there is any difference with mine...

Thanks, Omar

Could it have something to do with this?

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=206692&page=2

This is related to an ubuntu installation, and I know this problem due to having experienced it on my desktop.
Yesterday I done cat /etc/resolv.conf and got a "nameserver 127.0.0.1".

Specifically, on my desktop, I couldn't fix it until I changed a file named "base" into /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/. I had to write in it my ISP's IPs, because the script used to generate resolv.conf always changed it to "nameserver 192.168.1.1" which is the router's IP.
Changing the"base" file forces to add the ISP IPs to the one detected by the system.

Now switch on the 770: no "base" file nor resolv.conf.d subdir are present. Is it that another way to connect is used or am I facing the same problem?
I somewhere read that it is related to IPv6 issues and the Dlink router I am using; I was thinking of flashing the IPv6 kernel because I need the NFS functions, is there the possibility that my 770 stops connecting after that?

Thanks!
