Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible, by any means, to share internet from a laptop which is connected to the internet via WiFi coz I found it possible if the laptop is using wired internet connection. Coz, my uni WiFi seem to support only Computers not my IT. Thanks.

What kind of encryption does your Uni Wifi have?? I have yet to meet a wireless network with WPA/WPA2/WEP that I couldn't connect to... even the library tried warning me these kinds of devices don't usually work - and I laughed at them when it did .

As far as sharing.. You can not share it if it's the same device. IE: If your laptop is getting the internet FROM the wireless card.. then it can not share it back OUT that same wireless card. However; if your laptop is getting it's internet through either A) A second wireless card or B) a hard line ethernet ... then yes. You could turn your laptop into a mini router that will relay an Ad-Hoc network to your Tablet out through the internet device.

But again.. I don't believe you will find much success if you are using the same Wireless card to both receive and serve the interwebz.

Thanks fatalsaint for the reply. Uni uses WPA-Enterprise as security type and encryption type is TKIP. It also uses EAP-MSCHAP v2 as the authentication method. I don't know actually what these things means but they gave me a paper for setting up my laptop with these details. Thing I couldn't find in my IT were the mentioned WPA-Enterprise security type. I found the EAP-MSCHAP v2 authentication type and entered my username and password as required but fails to connect to the internet but worked fine with my laptop. Thanks.

Hi, I read in the wiki here: http://www.internettablettalk.com/wi...a_a_Windows_PC to connect to the internet using bluetooth via a windows pc, So, it is that IT can connect to the computer via bluetooth and share the internet the computer is using? Also the 'hcitool scan' command doesn't work in my IT. Do i need to install anything for it to work coz my IT doesn't recognise this command thanks.
