Give it a day or two for the developer to push a hidden, not updated to Diablo, dependency into the repo and everything should just work again.

For those who need it now, check the mcalendar thread for the workaround.

I was pretty desperate for my bedside clock too, so I just kept running it from the term and installing the missing modules manually until it worked. Yeah, that desperate...

Any instructions yet to get mclock installed on N800, OS2008 (latest update)? I know Python 2.5 has to be installed but how does one go about uninstalling Python 2.4 or check if there's any Python installed already and to remove it and what programs are dependent on it!? Please help this tech dope...thank you guys.

I just tried your new .deb but it didn't work. I ran mClock from the command line and discovered that it needs a few python imports that must not be in your list of required packages. The following fixed it for me (as root):

apt-get install python2.5-pygame python2.5-dbus

Note that those two package pull in other packages as well (libsdl-ttf2.0-0 and python2.5-xml at least).

Pleasy try again. I added the two dependencies.
As a bonus, mClock now finally includes a 64x64 icon :-)

could you show me the steps to install mClock. i am a novice with the IT. i know that i have to install python for maemo but how do i go about doing this. i have the Nokia 800 and the latest OS2008 update. please help. thanks.

I think you won't even have to install Python yourself anymore. It should suffice if you use your tablet's browser to go to my blog post about the update, then click the "mclock-051-1_all" link.
This will open a window on your tablet asking you what to do with this download - select the "Open" button. This will download the installation package and open the Application Manager, which will automatically start the install and download all needed "dependencies" (other software packages needed, such as Python) if they aren't yet installed.
