Not necessarily all 802.16e, of course, nor the same 2.5GHz band.
You're right Benson, but the 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz are also 802.16e. For mobile applications, regulators are allocating spectrum in the 2.3 and 2.5 – 2.6 GHz regions, as well as the 3.4 – 3.6 GHz band. Today we have WiMax on bands 2.3GHz, 2.5 GHz, 3.5GHz (depending if you are in Europe, USA or Asia). ... and the 700MHz is around the corner

In some european countries the band 2.5GHz is reserved for military usage, and it is not allowed for Wimax (this might change in some years because there are ongoing discussions to change this). The regulators in EU countries (+ China and some African countries) have approved Wimax in 3.5GHz, I believe to reuse the band used by LMDS in the begining of 2000s. LMDS used 3.5 and 5.1 GHz. Norway and Russia have approved 2.3 and 3.5 GHz bands.

N810W is only available in USA, I believe it only supports 2.5GHz. Nokia have in europe Quad-band telephones and I do not see why they could not release a tri-band Wimax as you rightly suggest. Otherwirse, its usage would be rather limited for the guys on the go.

an interesting site on wimax is http://www.wimaxforum.org/technology/faq/

another option are wimax radios thats are software/firmware locked to specific band in specific nations. problem is that this basically makes one able to have it open source as it will allow "terrorists" to turn them into jammer in nations that use those bands for other things.

WIMAX definitely has the potential to be one of the major means of delivering broadband content in many countries. Currently, several Indian cities have WIMAX deployed. This July, the government of India announced a major project to deploy WIMAX to 3 separate states, with an estimated customer base of over 250 M people. WIMAX will share the 2.3 to 2.5 GHz freqencies that 3G (cellular) uses.
