I am having a problem with GRUMBY on my N800. I posted 2 days ago in the troubleshooting forum and have had no replies. My WIDGETS load okay, but when trying to play any of them, all I get is a blank black screen. If anyone can help me out it would greatly be appreciated. I love using the GRUMBY application and have used it in the past without problems. What the heck is going on????? I am an older person and need assistance from someone out there. Thanks

I am seeing the same behavior. My guess is that the protocol for the virtual chumby has changed and grumby needs to be updated. I don't think the software is being maintained anymore, so this could be the end of grumby.

Thanks so much for your reply to my question. I sure hope if there is update needed that someone can post info. I enjoy using my Virtual Chumby and will greatly miss it if it is not supported any longer...Once again, thanks for your reply.

Well, you could always use the Virtual Chumby web page to display your widgets. It's certainly not as nice has having the widgets go fullscreen, but at least it works.

At the risk of being pedantic, grumby is simply a big python script, so the source is (mostly) available in /usr/bin/grumby.

Yesterday I worked correcting the problem and adding small features (auto start, auto reload).
I have to figure how to build a deb so I could upload a new version.
It should be done till the end of the week.

Jerome,

That would be awesome, I've just found grumby after playing with a real chumby and it made me dig out my IT and start using it again :-)
