OK I really screwed things up here. I was only trying to install more apps and I noticed that the internal memory card on the N810 was filled up. So I tried to move the huge map files over to the removable memory card (with a lot of free space) I did so, and then it only moved a portion of the map files over so it was like half in the external memory card, and half in the internal. I used file manager to simply move the files. I try map out and it still works but its annoying cause it always says "we found files in two places etc etc) and then anyway I just went ahead and uninstalled map and now I try to install it again and it hangs up. Control panel, it hangs up, application manager - it hangs up. Backup / restore it hangs up...

Is my only option to flash the device? I dont even know how to do that

I am down to leaving the battery off for 15 mins now. Something is hanging it up even after several restarts. (I have the load indicator app so I can see something is eating it up - )

I am a bit pressed for time now but will be happy to answer any questions.

I can't really help with getting it back in place. I can help with the reflash, it just depends on what OS you use in your PC.
BTW if you want more room you may want to boot from SD, as it will give you more room to put apps.

I would love to do that.

Heres an update, I came back home from after hours of being away and it still shows somethings taking up memory. I opened up a new browser window and it just opens up and doesnt show anything. Just a blank screen and it says "Updating" constantly. No web page. Just a white screen.

Starting to get annoyed and may just start from scratch.

It seems as if everything works, but when you try to do anything, (control panel, whatever, it hangs up.

I would appreciate help with reflashing it, I will use an IBM thinkpad, using windows xp pro.

oh one more thing. I try to turn the device off by tapping on the onn off button and selecting "switch off" and it makes that signature sound, (like it always does, but then it just shows a "NOKIA" in blue letters and doesnt switch off I have to remove the battery to switch it off.

ok first you need the updater----> here http://europe.nokia.com/A4305010
install it. Get your battery full, and your usb cable. and a little patience.
follow the instrutions, it will ask to connect your tablet to the pc, press the home button, then turn it on. A usb icon should apper at the top right. keep going, it will download the latest image and load it in the tablet. then it will reboot and be a brand new tablet (hopefully).
Then get a SD card with at least 2GB and follow the instructions here http://tablethacker.com/wp/?p=151&lang=en-us this will copy your flash image to your SD card, and you will have around 1.5 GB for programs.

I was wondering if I could choose the option to install programs on to the card, rather than the device...

hmm well it does suck.

I think after this reflashing (which I will do tomorrow after the batt has been charged all night) I am going to just use what I need. I would love if someone had a twitter client for the N810 but other than the basics I dont hack into it too much - for this very reason - I dont really know much about it.

well, messing up is a great start ^^ you get to learn a lot. for twitter I think you can use Mauku http://mauku.henrikhedberg.com/ and you can use the SD partition to mess up, install the odd stuff, and the flash partition for backup purposes/ regular use.

hmm looks interesting. I am even worried I will mess up the SD partition, so I may just do it like normal. In an ideal world, the SD is where I want to to install stuff.
