I just saw the announcement, the program is available now for download from the Opera web-site.This new version will play u-Tube video. Curious if this will be a viable upgrade for the 770?

4.2 sounds like it must be opera mini, not the regular opera version (which is at 9 something IIRC). Opera mini is a java application and there's no official java for the tablets yet.

Looks great on my phone, but I can't find any Java support on the N810

Someone on the forums got it to work with Jalimo but it did not sound easy. I'm still waiting for Jalimo to not be red-pill, and to be able to just open .jads from the File Manager or what have you. (It seems like you have to open apps from the terminal right now.)

So, I took your advice and tried this. I previously installed Opera Mini on my T3, and it was faster over bluetooth than my N810 over WiFi (but MUCH worse). So I decided to try it on the Emu...

Palm, in all its stupidity, has stopped distributing the JVM. Ok, that was stupid, but torrents came to the rescue.

But, it does not even work. Boo...

I've tried that several times. Installing the JVM from IBM wipes my GVM memory, and I have to restore the various files from backup on my MMC card. Too bad -- tools like Google Maps and pTelnet seem to work so well in the GVM.

I've learned to keep frequent backups -- database operations in HandyShopper sometimes wipe GVM's files (reset to default apps), and I've also had infrequent issues in Palm DB and in QuikBudget.

On the browser front, I cant get Xiino to work either. The old version I have a key for doesn't connect in the GVM, and I don't have a key for the newer one.

If you really want to try Opera Mini on the tablet (WHY???) I give some instructions for doing via Easy Debian in this post.
