In the "old" days, I used my Windows XP desktop to download the .deb install files and then transfered those files to my N800. Then I would finnally install the application using the application manager. Today, we just find a WiFi connection and install the application direct by using the application manager on our device. No USB cables, no other computers.

More info. Open xterm and type maemo-mapper and see what happens.

Yes, thanks a bunch. Somehow the GPS won't fix my location.
Either that OR I SUCK BALLS in trying to get this to work.
Sometimes maemo-mapper crashes, is this normal?

Other than that, what do I use to sync my phone (W580i) to this sexy thing (N810WiMax) ? I'd like to try and call my brother via N810WiMAX.

And I installed the bomberman game, but I unistalled it because it was boring, but.. the icon still shows, anyone knows how to get rid of it?

I also would like to know how to see my device folders and stuff via USB because I'd like to learn more about this device.

Where to get roms for the vgba emulator? Anything else I need?

Thanks.

When u install maemo mapper.... In settings select bluetooth... not file path.

For syncing checkout phonelink. You can only dial from the n810 but cannot use the speaker for talking. However you can send sms via n810.

Try numpty physics... very cool game... i have no idea where u can get roms..

Can the n810 receive sms also?
So at this point, I think there isn't any program to link bluetooth phones directly to dial and send sms's.

I want to look at my device folders but I'm not sure how to get to there even after a few hours of experimenting with this, I want to delete that bomberman icon from my extras list, and some others if I can.

How much is XOHM service? Is it available in NY?

Okay, I just installed the easy deb chroot app.
Somehow I can't open anything, the deb lxde opens then closes, same thing happens with deb chroot.
The rest of the apps that come with this bundle doesn't work either, its infuriating, lol.

Okay, this is what I have, excluding all the other installations that are coupled with the installed applications.

* A-GPS - I thought this helps the GPS but I don't know how this exactly works.
Advanced-backlight - WORKS/Good app.
camera - WORKS/Bad image quality; is there another app to improve this?
canola2 - WORKS/I use this to listen to music.
* easy-deb-chroot - Sad to say nothing works at the moment, should it? Sad.., since I saw good feedback on this.
fbreader - WORKS/Don't know when I'm going to read my first book, Lol.
gnokii - I don't know what this exactly does either, I installed because I thought it helped syncing w/ phones.
kmplayer - WORKS/Installed it for worldtv99; kind of nice.
large-statusbar-clock - WORKS/Very useful.
load-applet - WORKS/Kind of like the windows task manager, a MUST.
* maemo-mapper - I'm kind of getting used to this, still can't acquire GPS location.
* maptile-loader - Was this download even worth it? I'm not sure if it did anything.
m-player - WORKS/Only used in canola2 youtube.
numptyphysics - WORKS/Interesting game.
omweather - WORKS/My god, isn't this sexy?
pidgin - WORKS; thank god this effing works; I LOVE THIS
pipepanic - WORKS/Another interesting game.
* python-launcher - Was this download worth it? I'm not sure what python is either.
* vgba - Does this work? I'm sure it does, but.. I don't know where to get roms; for future reference, I'd like to know where to get mastergear/ines roms.
xournal - WORKS/Going to use this for class I guess; I've found that using a lead pencil in place of the stylus is pretty convenient when it comes to writing.

When it comes the apps with the asterisk placed beside it, I need help..
My 2nd day with this sexymabob! Getting the gist of things. =)
Appreciate everyone's help so far. ;D

Phonelink works for dialing & sending sms via bluetooth.
It cans also detects when the phone rings or receive an sms and let you pick up the phone or reply to the sms.
it works IF your phone is supoported by the gnokii lib.
There is a page on the wiki that shows the phone that works or don't.
once installed you have to configure the connection through the control panel apple called gnokii-gconf
Phonelink can also get your phone numbers from the built-in contact database or the GPE contact database (if you have installed it) for this you have to install ContactInfos.
