Updated my n810 without any issues, however when I dug my n800 out and tried to update it, it complained about some docs package that I've never heard of being required.
Looks like the update has a dependency on one of the previous OS updates, which is annoying. Guess I'll just re-flash this one from scratch, nothing on this device anyway.

Manually updated. The left side of my touchscreen is very inaccurate now. Is this a software or hardware problem?

edit: Could this be due to the screen rotation kernel?

This came right in time for me to clean install as opposed to update. And it worked like a charm that way. In fact, the battery life has improved from my last update, as well as it seems about two steps faster in the menus and browsing. And I thought the last update brought the speed up a bit.

I didn't restore from backup, just installed much less and so far, so good.

I may have to try this. My N800 would NOT last 24 hrs now. I HAVE to plug it in 2X a day, yes, 2 X a day, with my normal use.

Yes, xserver optimizations from 5.2008.43-7 improve fonts rendering speed and graphics blitting operations. This results in some small performance improvement practically everywhere, and in the browser too.

But the application which should benefit the most is fennec browser from mozilla. It should get a huge performance boost once/if they switch from 24bpp to 16bpp rendering.

I've been dealing with some medical issues of my mom's for the past few weeks, so I have not been able to read through this thread. Has anyone else successfully updated SD (with osso version test in xterm confirming successful update) only to have 43-7 Unlocked remain an option in the list of as-yet uninstalled updates?

Since you've been out, let me fill you in about this 43-7update.

If you want to be absolutely sure, you can try this, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=25673.

So far, I gather, the SSU update from 36-5 to 43-7 is fine on N810. However, if you have 30-2 or even earlier version, SSU will make you go thru each one of them, apparantly, you cannot jump version. And sure, I have 'phobia' about the version that requires user manuals document (36-5?). (I could be wrong on this one). There are sporadic reports that SSU update on N800 is NOT that smooth. Again, depends on how you look at things.

So far, my update is fine, I go thru flash, but now I gained more than I want. I need to plug my N800 2X a day, the battery would NOT last for more than 12 hr. I switched with a brand new Nokia battery, no dice. same problem
