now for sure I can tell you had some previous application that messed up the dependencies, as they were probably not from the officials repositories : /
Strange thing is that our cleanup was not able to recover you from that.

Now you have 2 options : there's a thread called : manually remove canola on the first pages of this forum, you can try doing that as last resort and the apt-get update in the end to see if helps, and..

the 3rd one is unfortunately to flash the device with the new OS, and the first thing you can install is canola, then is sure you will have no problems

Thank you handful, sorry to bother again but I cant find the thread: manually remove canola.
The 3rd : I thought I had the new OS2008, I did trough the nokia website. Is that what you call flash?
I don't mind loosing my data so maybe that would be the more efficient solution.

Yes, I said new just to make sure, because there's 2 versions already for 2008 firmware.

DEAR Handful, first of all I wish (no offense to other forum)that everyone out there who runs forum and website should follow your example . You are amazing, you are there even when I think that you 'll be asleep. WOW!
Anyway, I did a complete flash and installed I guess new firmware . IT WORKS! I finally succeed to install canola2.
Now may question is do I have to install plugs in or other components or I should just go ahead and enjoy this beautiful program?
What are your suggestions?

Hi Radio,

No problem at all

So: a good thing is to install mplayer, then go to canola website and install the youtube plugin

Next couple weeks more plugins will be available but for now these are the ones.

Remember to go to "settings" media library and choose the folders where you media is located (for each type) if you select the exact folder instead of the whole "disk" you will have even faster scanning times.

i am having trouble also with canola. everytime i try to load it i get an unable to install and this is the problem
i am missing
python 2.5 terra (>=0.1.7-maemo2)
canolad (<=0.1.3-maemo5)
libfreetype6 (<=2.3.5)
libssll0.9.8 (<=0.9.8e-)

how would i go about making this work???

No, this shows the likeliness of unpredictable errors when splitting a single application in >60 small packages creating a little dependency hell, IMHO.
