please can anybody tell me how to disable auto power off of the nokia 770 when running background applications and no user interaction on the screen takes place?
I tried to tweak with some settings:
/Tools/Control Panel/Device lock -> disable
/Tools/Control Panel/Presence
- status when connected "On"
- Auto-away "Disabled"
/Tools/Control Panel/Display
- Brightness period: 2 minutes
- Switch off display 5 minutes
- Lock screen and keys [ ]
Till now, Ifound two situations where this behaviur is really nasty:
I tried to hack some keepalive loop
it not only stops logging, but even forgets all data until shutdown.
Obviously this is not a clean shutdown which made the mapper saving its data, but something like a crude kill -9?
Had a look at Nokia manuals, but couldn't find a hint there.
I browsed google and this forum, found some pointers close to the issue but not really a solution.
I don't mind to have the screen in some dark mode and to press some button to wake it up again, as long as the backgroun apps keep running and hold their data.
Or do I just press the wrong button for wake up???
It is the only way I found
Another way to stop sleeping but the power button???
Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
Internet Tablet OS2006 edition

I'm new on the tablet, but familiar with linux on PC.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks Wolfgang
