Generally I wouldn't reply because it's been discussed SO much...but here goes anyhow.

The mylo is a cool little device, MemStick duo, hide away keyboard......wait, that's about all it has...

PSP is another awesome device by Sony, it plays games on a beautiful screen...andddd some mp3s and movies.

Nokia 770? Let's list cons first...no keyboard.

Now on to the pros.

1. 802.11g (which doesn't even matter because the device can't even process info that fast.)

2. Same screen size as PSP with a resolution of 800 x 640 (which I might be corrected on)

3. Bluetooth...gotta EVDO/UMTS/GPRS/EDGE phone? Good, use it.

4. I hate to throw it out there buttt.....Linux powered = VERY big support/application base.

You will read all over this forum how it doesn't do this, that, and the other thing very well like run a web server, it hangs doing that...yadda yadda, look if you could be happy with what the 770 was actually advertised to do, you'll be very happy. Keep in mind that most of the people that ***** and moan about the 770 locking up and being slow are not using for what it was advertised to do. I bought the device prior to reading this forum, and really got to love the device for what it was made for, browsing the web, simple email, music, movies, and.....hmmm.....I think that's it.

Neither the Mylo or PSP have touchscreen...it's like eating soup with a fork....ESPECIALLY on the psp....wow. No bluetooth on either of them.

This is just a very quick run down. I'm pretty sure that most of the info I've shared is accurate, but I'm sure if it's not, someone will be kind enough to correct my mistakes.

-Edit- 100th post....pretty cool...yeah. Bye.

thank you for the imput sorry for bringing it up i didnt know it was brought up so much but basically what you are telling me is the psp will basically do the same thing EXCEPT touch screen and bluetooth so lets say i do have a verizon phone with bluetooth does that mean i can connect to the internet anyways i do realize that it wont be fast but i dont care...i just would like to be able to access the internet and type reports up on but if the psp can do that for 150 bucks less then i dont know, price is the only thing that is keeping me from buying it right now not saying i wont pay the 350 but just trying to see if i really am getting the best bang for the buck.

Even if the psp had a text editor you wouldn't want to type an essay on it. It doesn't have a keyboard so typing is frustratingly slow. Think cell phone keyboard but you have to select which key with arrow keys. The 770 supports abiword which I've used successfully to work on essays in class. Abiword supports .doc files directly, which may be an advantage over the mylo's text editor.

You don't mention what authentication your university requires. My university supports both web-based authentication and WPA EAP. I used the web-based system for a while before spending the over an hour trying to make WPA work. After I got it working I found this page. I like having my traffic encrypted and it's nice to not have that nag screen every time I connect. I don't think the either mylo or psp support WPA EAP.

Forget about using the PSP to browse the web - it's a pure gimmick and pretty unusable unless you're in a real jam and have absolutely no alternative (and that includes newspapers!) It really is awful surfing without a touchscreen - using the analog stick to navigate between links quickly becomes annoying after, oh I dunno, the first link.

The Mylo screen is too small, too low resolution to be usable for pretty much anything.

If you want a games machine, by a PSP and don't be disappointed by all the non-game related gimmickery - even as an audio player the PSP is ridiculous, it has to be the biggest and heaviest "portable" MP3 player in the world!

If you're only interested in Instant Messenger functionality, I guess the Mylo with it's keyboard is the best bet, although the small screen will make web surfing a miserable experience.

If you want a device to surf the web go with the Nokia Internet Tablet (the clue is in the name). Enhance the Nokia 770 with a ton of free applications, several of which will cater for the "essay taking" requirement (from basic text editors to full-blown word processors), and it also comes as standard with Google Chat & Google Talk. An application called "gaim" is also available with support for MSN, AOL, IRC, Google and several other IM clients I've never even heard of!

I'm using a Stowaway Sierra bluetooth keyboard with the Nokia 770, it works very well. Other portable Stowaway and Nokia bluetooth keyboards also work just fine with the Nokia 770. I believe the infrared/laser virtual keyboard device also works fine with the 770 over bluetooth.

Let's get this str8. The PSP is incredible for Games and UMD movies but is beyond painful for web browsing. If wi-fi web is your choice the psp aint it. If you need some wi-fi web with a qwerty then neither of the 3 are your choice. I have a 770 and have had a psp and I wouldnt want to do much more than type in a web address. Look at the Nokia E61 as it has the new Nokia Safari Browser and wifi with a full qwerty. I have that now and it's incredible.
