I was using Mobile as lightweight option since Minimalistic was still too overloaded for my (data connection) taste. Now Mobile doesn't exist but Minimalistic is getting there. Thanks!

You have already Resize fonts in the Todo. Great.

Another thing is that pressing "Thanks!" makes the page reload. Don't ask me how, but the Mobile theme would take your Thanks into account just by pressing the button, no reload. Mobile wasn't showing who had thanked the post, so that's probably why.

If both things can't be done at the same time, I'd claim being able to say Thanks! seamlessly is more important than seeing who has thanked a post. I'm getting lazy pressing the Thanks! button because I want to continue reading avoiding the reload of a long page, specially on a data connection.

i would hazard a guess that having thanks listing update inline without a full page reload would take a but of ajax wizardry...

I could make it not show the update until you refresh the page your self or I could even figure out enough ajax to make it work probably but not matter which why you will still have to send/receive data between tablet and server so it wouldn't be that much faster I don't be leave.

BTW Work is going real fast so if you have any more suggestions for Minimalist 2.0 get them in fast.

The thing is, if the Thanks process is running in the background or in a small region of the page it doesn't matter whether it goes slow. The user can keep reading without interruptions. If the page reloads there is nothing that can be done apart from waiting and eventually searching again for the exact place where you were reading.

Actually the talk.maemo.org theme doesn't reload the page and shows my thanks after a little while (but you can continue reading the page in the meantime. So perhaps you can borrow that piece of code?

If you will make a list the the things you really want from the advanced post page then I will see which ones I will include and add it to my list.

Edit: I decided to add the top tool bar in advanced posting and additional options section to advanced posting. This will give you almost all the options for advanced posting but still keep it as minimal as possible. Smiles and Post Icons will not be added.

Sounds like it could be the perfect job for Quick Clip
After the dust settles, I'll put together a text file of useful bbcode that can be C & P'd from that application while using Minimalist on the tablets and post it in BrentDC's thread.

As everyone can see I'm getting real close to having the new minimalist theme done. So this is the warning that within the next few days I will be releasing it to Reggie to add to the live site. It will be light gray/orange theme After a few days of testing and bug fixes I will modify the colors to make a dark gray one. So faster we get the bug fixes in to me the faster we will have a dark one again.

I suppose you don't have enough content on that test bed for a shot of the "new posts" page ?

I fear that it will have the same "orange overload" problem as its standard equivalent, being 99% made of links... Reggie responded to my remark by turning most links black specifically on that page, which made it a lot better, maybe you could consider doing the same ?...

not sure what to think about the color thing, but overall it seems usable. tho i wonder how easy it will be to hit that "mark read" link by accident...
