Hey all.

For some reason the Internet Tablet Video Converter-0.24 won't accept some new .avi media files even though Windows Media Player and Nero Showtime (under Windows XP) both play them just fine.

The only thing I can thing of is that these videos have fan made subtitles encoded within the file.

Is there anything that can be done so I can watch these on my Tablet?

Thanks ahead!

Here's what I'm seeing on my end:

Well, the bad thing about AVI is that it's a container, not a format. A AVI file could be anything.

Okay.

But is there a way to convert these .avi files to more friendlier .avi files?

That way I can chuck those into the Internet Tablet Video Converter without any problems.

I know it's an extra step and all, but I wouldn't mind doing that if it's possible.

Yeah?

You can convert anything using mencoder (command line encoder from mplayer) or ffmpeg.
There are some scripts and frontends to ease the use of mencoder (use the search function here and look in the mplayer homepage mplayerhq.hu)
